Keri Lambert: A Sports Illustrated “Face in the Crowd”

Sports Illustrated has included Keri Lambert, a senior history major at Amherst College, as a “Face in the Crowd” for its latest issue

A native of Amherst, MA, Lambert has gained momentum moving into her senior year.  Named as an All-American and Academic-All American last year, she is the DIII champion in the 3,000m steeplechase.  Earlier this season, Lambert was named the NESCAC Performer of the Week after her win at the James Earley Invitation 6K.  Most recently, she won the Little Three 5K Championship (a three-way competition between Amherst, Williams, and Wesleyan), posting a time 49 seconds faster than the second-place finisher – is “dominant” the correct word?

Later this fall, Lambert will look to improve on her eighth place finish at last year’s NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Provided the rugby team stops leaving its stuff in her way during practice (sorry, Keri!), I have every confidence that we’ll hear about more of Lambert’s accomplishments at a later date.
