Williams Alum Among National Sailing Hall Of Fame Inductees

Williams College has announced that Bob Bavier ’40 is among the newest group of inductees in the National Sailing Hall of Fame. After earning the Ephs their Intercollegiate titles in 1939 and 1940, Bavier went on to have an illustrious career in the sport.

According to ‘Sailing World’, Bevier’s revitalization of the ship Constellation is what won him the 1964 World Cup. He later had deep involvement at Yachting magazine, first as a writer and then an editor.

Bavier passed away in 2001.
