Williams Alum Contends for Lieberman’s Seat
Here’s the New York Times‘ recent endorsement of the current congressman:
“On the Democratic side, we endorse Representative Christopher Murphy, a three-term congressman who is respected by members of both parties. His role in helping write the new health care law showed his ability to work in a highly partisan Congress. His opponent, Susan Bysiewicz, is a former state representative who served as secretary of the state from 1999 to 2011. She is a tough campaigner who has emphasized the need to hold Wall Street more accountable. Still, Mr. Murphy has the experience and political skills needed for this important job.”
If he secures his party’s nomination, Murphy will likely face Christopher Shays–a House veteran of over two decades.
