This is How We Do It on the West Side

I must be delirious writing this post at 4 AM in a room full of engineers at my summer internship. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term “code jam,” let me enlighten you. It’s when teams of engineers, designers, and people with a strong affinity for Red Bull and popcorn stay up for an extended period of time (in this case, 24 hours) to develop and code. We began at 9 AM Thursday and will go until 9 AM Friday (if it ever comes). It’s always funny to see the delirium that arises out of sticking people in front of several screens for 24 hours straight with no sleeping and no breaks. Delirium indeed. I look around and see towers of Red Bull cans, and engineers with their faces so close to the computer I swear they and their computer are one. I’ve had the same headphones in for at least 20 hours…with non-stop dubstep. Ok, I think I’ve officially gone crazy.
