Middlebury’s Groff Makes Her First Olympic Team Debut August 4
Sarah Groff’s seventh place finish at the Olympic test event earned her a spot on Team USA for the 2012 Olympics. She completed the 2011 circuit as No. 3 in the World Championship Series, the best finish by an American since the series began three years ago.

Groff swam at Middlebury and majored in Conservation Biology and Studio Art when she graduated Cum Laude in 2004. Triathlons weren’t on her radar until after graduation, when she wanted to continue competing. She trains out of Australia during the winter and in Switzerland during the summers in high altitude mountains. She is one of 55 women competing in the swimming (1500 meters), biking (43 kilometers) and running (10 kilometers) event in London’s Hyde Park.
Good luck to the ‘Cac’s own, Sarah Groff!
