Bowdoin In The 'Cac Lifestyle
New Social Shopping Site Hits ‘Cac
Unless you’re clustered around a laptop in the library (in which case, please stop talking), online shopping has taken the social aspect out of what used to be the job of 5 great friends and a good smoothie. Two of Bowdoin’s finest entrepreneurs have set out to change that with the creation of RompBomp, a social shopping site for the .edu set (and NOT just women!).
Sam Hanson ’11 and Hartley Brody ’12 know that feedback is to shopping, as social media is to college–and it’s high time the things go hand and hand.
Picture this: RompBomp lets you scroll through and rate the newest clothing from vendors such as J Crew, BCBG, and Bloomingdales with a click of the button–telling you what percentage of your social circle also likes/dislikes the look.
Figure in the ability to cultivate a “Wishlist”‘ and put together full outfits from a vast online catalog and you won’t ever need to beg your roommate to come with you to Freeport again.
RompBomp or, as I like to call it, “RB” launches at Bowdoin tonight. If you don’t have a Bowdoin e-mail address, don’t get your hanky pankys in a twist…the site will launch for the rest of the ‘Cac soon!
