Bowdoin First Year Breaks Guinness Record

No, Trevor McDonald is not now the champion of throwing back the popular Irish stout–he’s the world’s newest record holder in the “Self-Tossed Grape Catch.”

Trevor’s quest for the record has been well-documented by The Bowdoin Orient, who recorded the following video (for those of you having trouble picturing what the “Self-Tossed Grape Catch” entails):

Trevor’s official attempt at the feat, and his ultimate success, made the front page of The Times Record, where they enumerate the various obstacles the Polar Bear faced–namely, pages of paperwork and the previous record-holder (a transcendentalist that upped the grape catching record by 10 feet the day before Trevor’s attempt).

Undeterred, Trevor beat Ashrita Furman’s 37 ft with a cool 39. Congrats dude, you bring new meaning to the words “Grapes of Wrath.”
